Welcome to the new and improved PitStop Computers website.
Please bear with us during this transition.

Now on to the stuff that matters:
Why you are here and what you can expect to gain
from viewing this site. I had planned to re-do a large sales letter
style page that employed a variety of sales techniques to entice you,
the consumer, into buying my products or services while discrediting
others for their shoddy workman-ship.
That was the plan. The reality was after
doing some checking out on the world-wide-web. I found many sites that
already employed these techniques, and also found in talking to a
variety or retailers that a few out there actually know what they were
talking about. So I figured why should I rehash the same garbage as
others and at the same time alienate some of the local retailers that
really stand out.
So what do I plan to accomplish then ?
As stated above, I did not wish to re-produce the
same style of pages that others put out. If you want such a page just
search for computer repair in google and you'll find plenty. So rather
than doing that I figured I would best serve the computing populace by
giving them information on the one thing they don't have CHOICES.
Not to necessarily mean that you do not already have and make choices,
but most people who make computer related decisions either in the home,
SOHO or big business do not delve deeply into the choices that they
already make. A CEO of any big corporation is not likely to know what
runs his computing infrastructure, just that he pays an IT department
to ensure that it "works". In a SOHO environment you basically have 2
types; one that hires a computer consultant such as myself to provide
solutions or a do-it-yourselfer that has the knowledge to make things
work. That really is the bottom line here ... making it all work! At
home you may find you have even less of a choice as a decision-maker
you get pulled in a variety of directions and then usually relinquish
the power or just let nasty stuff happen and hope for the best.
You do not have to allow this to happen, you can ensure a level of computing bliss that so few achieve !!
That is my intent. I only want to help and educate you the decision-maker so you can make GOOD CHOICES
and stop the endless flood of computer issues that plague everyone,
from the smallest single computer home to the largest of enterprises.
I tend to always follow the K.I.S.S. principle.
Just keep it simple, unfortunately supporting most of the computing
environments out there is not exactly an easy task, or is it?
The short answer is yes. You can have a safe
and clean computing existance and all it will take is a little
education and small transitioning over to solutions that work.
To start off there a number of simple things to consider:
- What "my computer's" job currently is and what I would like it to do.
- What do I need to do to ensure #1 actually happens.
- How can I as the decision-maker make it happen.
Well here we are at the end of my "sales pitch" .. So far if I
haven't lost you, I haven't actually tried to sell you anything but
some FREE advice but the reality is I haven't really
informed you of anything you didn't already know. As you traverse this
site I will try to clear up many misconceptions about computers,
operating systems and both FREE and COMMERCIAL software packages that may or may not fix all the "little" issues you may be experiencing and at the same time improve your over-all computing way-of-life!!
